District of Columbia Legal Research

A short guide to researching the law of the District of Columbia using the resources of the Kathryn J. DuFour Law Library.

District of Columbia Law

This guide provides users with information on selected resources for researching the law of the District of Columbia. Please note, this guide does not attempt to provide a comprehensive listing of all the resources one might encounter in performing research in D.C. law.  In addition, this guide also provides basic information on researching the laws of Maryland and Virginia.

This guide provides information on selected resources for D.C. legal research available at the DuFour Law Library, along with those publicly accessible through the Internet. The library’s online catalog provides information on the availability of these and other D.C. resources. Lexis+ and Westlaw Edge provide full-text coverage of many of the resources listed, however those resources are only available to the Catholic Law community.
