The theme for this year’s Black History Month is The Crisis in Black Education. The library is honoring Black History Month and this theme in two ways. Just inside the library entrance, you’ll see our display of selected books on African American education, including new titles on integration, affirmative action, and education equality. In the atrium, you’ll find a special exhibit in the display cases outside Room 220. The exhibit tells the story of the District of Columbia case Bolling v. Sharpe, one of five cases that were combined into the landmark Supreme Court decision Brown v. Board of Education, which ended legal segregation in schools.
