The Law Library is honoring the 2023 Black History Month theme of Black Resistance with a display honoring Professor Emeritus Leroy Clark. Mr. Clark was a professor at the Law School from 1981 until his death in 2019 at age 85. He spent his early legal career at the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund (LDF), serving as a staff attorney from 1962 to 1968 — during the height of the civil rights movement.
Also on display is a selection of suggested books honoring the theme and Black lawyers. Books may be checked out for one month and renewed two times.
More information on the exhibit is available in this guide produced by the Library staff.
