Alumni Services

This guide describes services for CUA Law Alumni.

Remote Access to HeinOnline

The DuFour Law Library offers CUA Law alumni remote access to HeinOnline’s law journal database.  To access HeinOnline remotely, free of charge, alumni must login to CUA Law Alumni Online Community page below.  For information about other law library databases, please see the Research Databases tab of this guide.

Case Law Linking Now Included

When viewing a document in HeinOnline, the references will now link to the cases cited. When an article cites a case, the case citation will be highlighted in blue and link to the case in Fastcase. Users will also have the option to look up a case by citation from the Fastcase tab in HeinOnline. Both options will retrieve the full text of the case in Fastcase’s HTML format while keeping you in the HeinOnline interface.

Borrowing Books

CUA Law alumni are welcome to borrow circulating books from the law library collection. Please note that the law library's collection contains primarily research materials which do not circulate.  Single-volume books which are not updated in any way (by pocket part or by looseleaf pages) can be checked out.

Law alumni may check out books for 2 weeks with one renewal, for a total of 4 weeks.

CUA Law Alumni Access Policy

CUA Law alumni are welcome to use the law library. Please sign the visitor register upon entering.

During restricted access (fall and spring exam periods), CUA Law alumni may use the law library, but they must consult with a reference librarian upon entering the library.
